We focus on how the space catches the light and handles our local climate, like using brick jaali to keep interiors cool while maintaining privacy. It is about ensuring the practical choices, such as ventilation, layout flow, and your pooja space, work in total harmony with the design. For us, a home is a living story. We believe that some designs are not just drawn, they are felt. When we start a project, we don't begin with a pre-set style. We start with the site, the sun path, and your daily routine. ### Why Vernacular Materials Matter We often use clay bricks, terracotta, and natural stone not just for the aesthetic, but for their thermal properties. In a city like Bengaluru, these materials act as natural insulators, keeping your interiors comfortable without relying solely on air conditioning. A brick wall or a strategically placed jaali screen creates a play of light and shadow that makes a home feel alive throughout the day. ### Our Process: Beyond the Renders We know the process can feel overwhelming. It involves more than just beautiful 3D images. It involves the 'marble maze' of material selection, the conversations on site, and the occasional, very practical question of 'madam, budget yenu?' (what is the budget?). We are there with you from the first sketch to the final site visit. Whether we are planning a compact urban villa or a spacious farmhouse, our goal is to build a structure that is both cozy and clutter-free. We prioritize layout efficiency, ensuring every square foot serves a purpose. If you are looking for a design that balances modern utility with the warmth of traditional Indian roots, let us walk you through how we can make that happen. ## About AKAR Design Studio We are AKAR Design Studio, and we believe a home should have a heartbeat. Whether we are sketching late into the night or standing on your site in our muddy boots, we are focused on turning your story into a structure that feels both grounded and new.
