When I sing pieces like Hariharan ji’s 'Kaash' or traditional bandish, I’m not just performing; I’m focusing on the nuances—the 'harkats' and 'murkis' that give these songs their soul. If you’re planning a sophisticated cocktail evening or a formal dinner where music needs to be beautiful but not overpowering, this is the vibe I bring. My journey with music didn't start on a big concert stage; it started right here, at home, sitting with my tanpura and practicing my 'swaraas'. This foundation in Hindustani classical music is what keeps me grounded. When I perform at events, I don't just want to sing words; I want to create a space, a 'baithak' (sitting) where the music feels like a conversation. ### Why Book a Classical or Ghazal Set? Sometimes, loud music isn't the answer. For engagement dinners, corporate networking, or the early hours of a wedding function, people want music that adds elegance without making it impossible to talk. * **The Repertoire:** I focus on the kind of music that hits the soul. Think timeless ghazals by Hariharan, soulful tracks like those from *Heeramandi*, or classical bandish that my father and I often jam on. * **The Personal Touch:** You might see me with a tanpura in my photos, but for events, I adapt. I can perform these sets solo, or with an acoustic guitarist and keyboardist to bring out that intricate, mellow sound. * **Unfiltered Emotion:** You’ll notice in my videos that I’m not afraid to show the raw side of my singing. Whether it's a 'tired voice but full heart' moment or a jam session with family, I believe honesty in music matters more than perfection. If you appreciate the beauty of a well-sung ghazal or just want something soothing for your guests, let's talk. I’d love to curate a setlist that matches the mood of your gathering perfectly. ## About Akanksha B. I’m Akanksha. My life is essentially a mix of riyaaz in the morning and energetic gigs by night.
