Here is an unfiltered look at how we translate design concepts into physical spaces on-site. ## Photos and videos - ![A glimpse into the construction of a residence at DLF Phase 1. On projects like our DLF Phase 1 residence, we pay close attention to the structural integrity of balconies and the precision of stone cladding. It is these technical details—and the careful coordination of material application—that ensure a design remains timeless and structurally sound for years to come. Architecture is rarely about the final image alone; it is the culmination of hundreds of decisions made during the construction phase. Our approach to the 'From Concept to Creation' process is rooted in a desire to show how design theory meets physical reality. ### The Importance of Site Detail When we take a project from the drawing board to the site, the focus shifts to volumes and light. In the DLF Phase 1 residence featured here, we were not just building walls; we were defining how the building interacts with the sun throughout the day. By carefully placing cut-outs and large openings, we ensure that natural light penetrates deep into the internal volumes, altering the character of the space as the day progresses. ### Material Integrity We believe that materials should express their true nature. Whether it is raw brick, stone cladding, or modern glass, the application process must be methodical. We avoid covering up structural elements that provide character. Instead, we use cladding and finishes to highlight the juxtaposition of different masses. For instance, the way stone is applied to an exterior facade requires specific attention to jointing and finish, which directly impacts how the building ages. ### Why Process Matters Clients often ask why we focus so heavily on the structural phase. The answer is simple: good design is a blend of aesthetics and engineering. By managing the construction with the same rigor we apply to the initial concept, we ensure that the finished space feels intentional. We do not design for a temporary trend; we design for permanence. This transparency in our process allows our clients to understand the effort involved in creating spaces that feel both fresh and established from day one. ## About Ajay Nirmal Architects I am Ajay. My design practice is rooted in a simple philosophy: architecture should feel like it has always belonged to its site. I spend my time balancing modern lines with traditional materials, ensuring that every structure I design is as functional as it is aesthetic.
