When we work at venues like the Mumbai Racecourse, my primary focus is the logistics of construction and the flow of the space. Whether we are hanging custom crystal ribbons or installing Romanesque pillars, we ensure the structural integrity matches the aesthetic, delivering a flawless setup even under tight, overnight timelines. ### Designing the Experience Large-scale reception decor is about scale, perspective, and lighting. When I design a gala night or a grand reception, I do not look at the venue as a room to fill, but as an experience to construct. My approach begins with the architecture of the space. I evaluate ceiling heights, floor load capacity, and sightlines to ensure that massive installations, such as our signature ribbon structures or overhead floral canopies, feel light and airy rather than overwhelming. ### Material and Light My work often relies on a balance between industrial materials and soft, romantic elements. I use acrylic, custom metal fabrication, and intelligent lighting rigs to create structures that feel like art. For example, by combining rigid geometric archways with soft, cascading wisteria or fresh roses, we create a contrast that catches the eye and draws guests toward the couple. The lighting is never static; we use haze machines and moving head beams to add depth and movement to the stage, ensuring it looks as dynamic in photographs as it does to the naked eye. ### Logistics for Mumbai Venues I understand the constraints of top Mumbai venues, from noise restrictions to limited setup windows. My team is experienced in night-shift labor and rapid fabrication. We ensure that even if you have a 50,000 sq ft enclosure, the transition from an empty lawn to a fully realised, polished reception happens seamlessly. We bring our own staging, trussing, and floral logistics, so the venue management and the couple do not have to worry about the 'how'. We handle the engineering so you can host the night. ## About Ajay Decorators I am Ajay Singh, and for over two decades, I have been turning vast, empty venues into spaces that breathe.
