## About Punyah Dance Company: Group Productions

What you see on stage is the final polish, but these productions are really about the chemistry between us dancers. When you book a performance like 'Abha' or 'Nagamandala', you're getting more than just choreography; you're getting a synchronized ensemble that’s practiced timing and trust for years. Because of the complex movement patterns, these performances require a stage with a minimum dimension of 20ft by 15ft to let the energy really land for the audience.

### Beyond the Solo Repertoire

There is a different kind of rush when you are dancing with a crew. While I love the introspection of a solo recital, the group productions at Punyah Dance Company allow us to explore stagecraft and ensemble choreography in ways that a single dancer simply cannot. We use the grammar of Bharatanatyam but push it into a modern, theatrical space.

### What Goes Into a Group Production

- **The Ensemble:** You aren't just hiring me; you are hiring a dedicated team of professional dancers from Punyah. We bring our own rhythm and rapport to the stage.
- **Technical Precision:** These shows are larger in scale. We work with dedicated lighting directors and sound teams to ensure the visual impact is as strong as the footwork. If you are hosting a large event, we provide a lighting cue sheet for your venue technicians to ensure the mood is perfectly captured.
- **The Repertoire:** Whether it is the intensity of 'Nagamandala' or the fluid patterns of 'Abha', these pieces are curated for visual brilliance. They are designed to engage an audience that might include both classical connoisseurs and people seeing Bharatanatyam for the very first time.

### Practical Logistics for Hosts

If you are planning to book us for a wedding, corporate event, or festival, please keep in mind that our group productions come with specific technical requirements. We need adequate stage space for the formations to work properly and enough room for our live 5-piece musical ensemble. We usually arrive well in advance for sound checks—this isn't just about playing music; it’s about ensuring the live vocalist and mridangam players sound right in your specific venue. If you have any doubts about whether your venue can accommodate the scale of these productions, just let me know and we can figure out the logistics together.
