Whether it is a product shoot or a temporary installation, I build environments that hold the viewer’s attention, using real materials to craft a genuine mood. ## Photos and videos - [Video: A cozy, Rajasthani-themed set I designed for a home decor brand. The scene is rich with texture, from the carved wooden daybed and block-printed textiles to the warm glow of fairy lights and candles. It’s about creating a complete, immersive world.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/6c480bb6-c2b7-4cdb-b262-1addfb9c05e2) ## About Additional Work & Set Design For the Rajasthani-themed setup shown here, the magic was not in the props alone. It came from layering hand-carved wood against soft, block-printed textiles and using carefully placed, warm lighting, creating a scene that feels lived-in rather than staged. Set design is often treated as a temporary arrangement, but I approach it with the same permanence I bring to architectural work. When we design an environment, the focus is on building texture and depth that translates through a lens. We use authentic structural elements like salvaged wood panels as a backdrop, then soften the space with hand-picked textiles to create a tangible warmth. Lighting is the final, non-negotiable piece of the puzzle. By moving away from flat, overhead illumination and using focused light sources, we invite the viewer to look closer and linger on the details. Whether you are a home decor brand looking for a signature lookbook or a business needing a space that captures your brand ethos, the process remains the same. We start with the material, understand the story you want to tell, and build a world around it. This is not about off-the-shelf staging. It is about creating a feeling that resonates with your audience, built from the same raw, natural materials that define all my architectural work. ## About Aavyaktaya Architects I am Akshay. For me, design is about that 'kulbulahat' (tingling excitement) I get when a vision finally turns into reality. I step away from the computer to get my hands on the materials, whether it is aging wood, working with lime wash, or finding the right textile to ground a room. My studio is a playground of raw textures where we let nature lead the way.
