By combining the rustic charm of French countryside living with classical design principles, I create outdoor spaces that feel as grand and comfortable as your indoor rooms. ## Photos and videos - ![This terrace combines classic French design with the relaxed feel of outdoor living. We utilized outdoor-grade checkerboard flooring to ground the area, while the overhead pergola provides essential shade for social gatherings. Every element, from the moisture-resistant upholstery to the strategic placement of light fixtures, is selected to maintain grace despite the shifting Indian climate. Designing for the outdoors requires a balance between aesthetic beauty and structural resilience. My approach to terrace design ignores the trend of sparse, empty spaces in favor of creating a rich, layered environment that feels lived-in and welcoming. ### The French Countryside Influence For this project, I drew inspiration from the tranquility of French garden design. By using high-contrast black and white flooring, we create a strong focal point that mimics classical European paving. The white brick walls and climbing greenery soften the structure, ensuring the space feels organic and serene. ### Materials for Longevity An outdoor space in Delhi NCR needs to withstand intense heat and monsoon rain. I prioritize materials that age well: - **Outdoor Upholstery:** I specify fabrics that resist UV damage and moisture, ensuring they remain plush and comfortable. - **Lighting:** We install water-resistant fixtures, including chandeliers and wall sconces, that provide a warm, ambient glow for evening gatherings. - **Furniture:** I favor wicker and solid wood frames that offer sturdy support while maintaining a light, airy appearance. ### Practical Design Considerations Beyond the visuals, a terrace must function well. I plan for optimal traffic flow to ensure that furniture arrangements encourage conversation rather than blocking paths. Whether you require a private nook for morning tea or a sprawling setup for hosting friends, I design the layout to support your lifestyle. A well-designed terrace should be an outdoor sanctuary, mirroring the sophistication of your home's interior. ## About Aashi Gupta Designs I believe the outdoors are meant to be lived in, not just admired from behind a glass window. I bring my passion for classical French architecture to your terrace, transforming it into a space where you can enjoy morning coffee or host evening gatherings in total comfort.
