While using fine materials like Italian marble or PVD-coated gold fixtures is essential, it is the integration of these with custom-height vanities and moisture-resistant joinery that ensures the space remains pristine, functional, and grand for years to come. ### Designing Your Private Sanctuary Many homes treat the washroom as a purely utilitarian space. I disagree. A bathroom or powder room should function as a private sanctuary, a jewel box where you can retreat from the world. Whether it is a master bath or a guest powder room, I approach these small, enclosed areas with the same architectural rigor I bring to a grand foyer. ### Materiality and Craft The luxury in these spaces comes down to tactile details. We avoid standard, mass-market fittings. Instead, I focus on heavy, solid materials: thick-cut Italian marble for flooring and cladding, and PVD-finished brass or gold hardware that ages gracefully. The goal is to avoid the stark, sterile look that dominates modern trends, opting instead for a depth of character found in classic Victorian or Parisian design. ### Practical Elegance Beauty is meaningless if it fails under pressure. My designs include: - **Technical Waterproofing:** Comprehensive layers to protect the integrity of your walls and floors, especially in wet zones. - **Lighting Layers:** A mix of central decorative chandeliers and warm wall sconces to ensure the space feels inviting, not clinical. - **Tailored Joinery:** Custom-built vanities designed to your height requirements, with moisture-resistant finishes that stand up to daily use. ### Why Start Here? If you have a home that feels empty or lacks personality, the washroom is often the best place to start a transformation. It is a contained project that allows us to experiment with bold patterns, dramatic wainscoting, or that clawfoot tub you have always wanted, without the scale of a full-house renovation. ## About Aashi Gupta Designs I am Aashi. I do not believe in design that hides behind cold minimalism—I prefer spaces that feel lived-in, storied, and genuinely grand. I pour the same level of detail into your private vanity as I do into your home’s entrance, ensuring every corner reflects your personal history.
