We select artifacts—whether a weathered ceramic urn or a singular carved wood panel—not to match the upholstery, but because they carry a specific texture and history that anchors the room. It is rarely about filling a shelf; it is about choosing one object that invites curiosity. Our approach to curation moves away from the decorative to the intentional. When we style a home, we look for items that bridge the gap between architectural structure and personal history. ### The Philosophy of Objects We avoid the sterile perfection of showroom sets. Instead, we layer elements that have weight and character. Think of a collection of rustic, hand-thrown vases displayed in a fluted glass cabinet, or a gallery wall composed of uniform, carved wooden masks. These are not merely accessories; they are sculptural presence that defines the room's mood. ### Creating Lived-in Harmony The art of curation lies in balancing contrast. We blend heritage pieces—family heirlooms or antique brass artifacts—with contemporary, abstract art and clean-lined furniture. By maintaining a neutral palette, we allow the textures of raw stone, wood, and linen to take center stage. ### Our Process We do not simply place items on a surface. We study how light hits a corner, the scale of a wall niche, and the negative space required for an object to breathe. Whether we are styling an arched alcove or selecting a statement piece for a console, our goal is to ensure each element feels as though it was gathered over time rather than purchased in a single visit. This results in interiors that feel authentic, grounded, and deeply personal. ## About Aakriti Saraf Design We treat design as a form of poetry, where every artifact acts as a verse. At Aakriti Saraf Design, we prioritize intentionality over trends, ensuring that your home reflects a curated narrative rather than a mass-produced aesthetic.
