Our setup is completely self-contained, as we bring the hand-carved puppets, the live dholak musician, and our portable 'tambu' (theatre) that fits into almost any indoor space for groups of 30 or more. For us, every performance is a way to keep our culture alive. When you book a show, you get the authentic Rajasthani experience—traditional narratives like the tales of Amar Singh Rathore and Dhola Maru, performed by a master manipulator. We design our performances based on your audience. For smaller private gatherings or birthday parties, we bring our classic duo: one lead puppeteer and one musician who handles the Dholak and the signature vocal narration. For large-scale events, festivals, or cultural centers, we scale up to our Grand Production, which includes a live musical ensemble and giant puppets that create a striking visual impact. Beyond just performance, we believe in passing on the craft. This collection also showcases our workshops, where we teach students and art enthusiasts how to carve wood, paint faces, and handle the strings. Whether it is a school demonstration for SPIC MACAY or a festival performance in Spain, we ensure the Kathputli tradition is shared with integrity. If you have an idea for a custom show, a parade with giant puppets, or a workshop for your organization, let's talk about how to bring the magic of puppets to your space. ## About Aakaar Puppet Theatre I am Puran Bhat. For me, Kathputli is not just entertainment, it is a parampara (tradition) passed down through generations in my family. I breathe life into wood and strings, sharing the stories my grandfather told me, whether on a big stage in Spain or at a school in Delhi.
