We explain why the messy work of cleaning, scraping, and filling is actually the most critical step for a finish that stays fresh for years. ## Photos and videos - ![By removing all dirt, grime, and loose particles, we guarantee superior adhesion. We use hardened steel scrapers to remove loose efflorescence and apply non-shrink fillers to seal gaps up to 3mm, ensuring your new coat actually bonds to the masonry rather than just sitting on top. Skipping the prep work is the fastest way to see your fresh paint peel or bubble within a few months. Our process is designed to stop these issues before they start. ### The Cleanup Phase We start by removing old paint, dirt, and salt efflorescence. We do not just brush it. We use heavy-duty scraping to get down to the stable plaster. If the plaster is hollow or damaged, we chip it away to treat the masonry itself. This ensures the wall is solid. ### Handling Cracks Hairline cracks are common, but they are also open doors for moisture. We v-groove these cracks to ensure our polymer fillers reach the depth of the gap. This prevents water from sneaking into your walls and causing structural dampness later on. ### The Foundation Once the surface is flat and clean, we apply an alkali-resistant primer. This creates a chemical bridge between the wall and the topcoat. By controlling the surface absorption, we ensure the final paint layer has a consistent texture, meaning no patchy spots or uneven fading. This might sound like extra effort, but it is the reason our walls stay looking clean for years. If you want to avoid the cycle of repeat repainting, focusing on this prep work is non-negotiable. ## About Aabha Painters At Aabha Painters, we are tired of seeing messy paint jobs and constant delays.
