I use organic, triple-sifted Sojat henna mixed with pure eucalyptus and clove oils to get that rich colour. The real secret, though, is the lemon-sugar sealant I apply before I leave; keep that on for a few hours, and you will see the difference when it develops the next day. ### My Secret to a Deep Stain Many brides worry about whether their mehendi will turn dark enough. I promise you, it is not magic. It comes down to three things: the quality of the henna, the freshness of the mix, and how you treat it for the first 24 hours. I source triple-sifted Sojat henna because the powder needs to be fine for those intricate bridal lines. I mix it with eucalyptus and clove oils, which are traditional secrets for bringing out a deep reddish-brown tone. If the paste is old or generic, the colour will never reach its potential. ### Aftercare Tips Once I leave, the process moves into your hands: * **Keep the heat:** Henna loves warmth. Keep your hands warm, maybe rub some Vicks or keep them near a gentle heat source, but do not burn yourself. * **The Sealant:** I apply a lemon-sugar mix before I go. Do not wash this off too soon. Let it dry and flake off naturally. * **The Water Rule:** Keep your hands away from water for the first 6 to 8 hours. Water stops the oxidation process that makes the stain dark.
