Whether it is a traditional bridal piece or a thematic baby shower design, I sketch out the main patterns, like peacocks, lotus flowers, or architectural domes, before I ever pick up the cone. This allows me to ensure the flow is balanced and the space is used exactly as you want for your event. My design library is essentially the foundation of my work. As an henna artist based in Mumbai, I find that sketching helps me refine the intricate details that make a design stand out, whether it is a dense traditional sleeve or a light, minimalist hand piece. I focus heavily on motifs that hold meaning. You will often see me sketching temple domes, elephants, and lotus flowers, which are staples in Indian bridal art. If you are planning a wedding, I work with you to integrate your story, including names, dates, or even specific figures, into these sketches before I start the final application. This creative process is also central to my teaching. In my mehndi classes, I teach students that you cannot rush the foundation. My courses cover everything from basic lines and shading to complex, high-end figure work.
