Most pet parents get frustrated when their puppy jumps on food or lunges at the door, but it is actually a communication gap. In my sessions, we do not use fear to stop these habits. Instead, we use a simple exchange method. Whether it is food guarding or snatching treats, I show you how to swap the item for a reward, which shifts your dog's mindset from 'must grab' to 'must look at you for permission'. Managing impulsive behavior is not about curbing a dog's spirit. It is about helping them pause before they act. When a puppy rushes to the door or lunges at a dropping snack, they are not being bad. They are just excited and have not learned how to control their urge yet. My approach in Delhi NCR is built on replacing those chaotic moments with calm, deliberate actions. Many owners struggle with resource guarding or excessive jumping when guests walk in. I do not believe in shouting or physical correction to stop this.
