When you see our children dressed up for Janmashtami or working on Independence Day art, notice that they are the ones choosing their roles and participating at their own pace. This builds genuine confidence and a sense of belonging, because they are actively contributing to the celebration instead of just performing for an audience. ### More Than Just a Celebration In our Montessori classrooms in Basavanagudi, festivals provide a natural touchpoint for lessons in Grace and Courtesy, cultural studies, and emotional intelligence. We don't believe in high-pressure rehearsals or rigid stage performances. Instead, we use these occasions to help children understand the significance of the world around them through hands-on activities. ### Integrating Tradition with Montessori Whether it is the storytelling sessions for Janmashtami or collaborative art projects for Independence Day, every event is designed to foster a sense of community. By exploring these themes in a mixed-age setting, our younger children learn through observation, while our older students develop leadership skills by helping their peers. This approach ensures that cultural awareness becomes a part of their daily rhythm, not an isolated incident. ### Why It Matters Our goal is to help children move through the day with respect for themselves and others. When we celebrate life and culture, we provide a safe space for children to express their creativity, develop coordination, and connect with their peers. This holistic development is the hallmark of the Chimes way—ensuring that children leave us ready for anything, inside and out. ## About Chimes Montessori We are Chimes Montessori, and we have spent over a decade creating a space in Basavanagudi that feels like a second home. We focus on the Montessori method, ensuring that learning is always led by curiosity and heart rather than pressure or drill.
