Whether it is the custom brick jali work at House Belaku or the vertical gardens at House of Greens, our focus remains on passive cooling and the honest use of materials like laterite and teak to create structures that age with grace. ### Our Approach to Architecture At 4site Architects, we do not believe in starting with a pre-determined aesthetic. Our design philosophy is rooted in the intersection of built and unbuilt space. We view architecture as a service to life, not just shelter. ### Projects and Philosophy From the Shiva Temple Complex on the Hubli-Bengaluru highway to residential urban retreats, our work is defined by a few core principles: * **Biophilic Integration:** We bring the outside in. By blurring the lines between indoor rooms and outdoor gardens, we create spaces that feel like a sanctuary. * **Material Honesty:** We prioritize natural materials like laterite, granite, and FSC-certified teak. These materials do not hide their nature; they weather and change, adding character to your home over time. * **Passive Comfort:** Before relying on technology, we look to design. Through double-height volumes, skylights, and careful orientation, we maximize light and airflow, reducing the need for artificial cooling. * **Cultural Context:** Designing in Bangalore means respecting its identity. We adapt traditional concepts like the central courtyard (Nadumuttam) to fit modern, functional layouts. ### The Collaborative Process We are partners in your build. Our process involves continuous sketching, model making, and dialogue. We do not just hand over drawings; we help you navigate contractor selection, material sourcing, and site supervision to ensure the vision translates into reality. If you are looking for an architect who values sustainability, traditional craft, and nature-connected living, we should talk. ## About Chandrakant S.
