By using skylights, pergolas, and traditional jaali screens, we transform static spaces into dynamic environments that shift with the sun's rhythm throughout the day. ## Photos and videos - ![A perfect circle of sunlight from a skylight illuminates a morning ritual. We have learned that the most beautiful moments in a home often happen at 10 AM or 4 PM, when the sun hits an angle that casts a moving pattern across your floor or water body, changing the mood of the room entirely. It starts with how the sun moves across your specific plot or balcony. We study orientation before we lift a single brick. For a rooftop terrace, we might design an MS pergola with wooden battens that chops the harsh midday sun into soft, linear bands. Inside, we often use hand-dressed stone or exposed brick in courtyards, letting light hit these textures to create a deep, moody atmosphere rather than a flat, bright glare. It’s not just about aesthetics; it is about cooling and connection. A well-placed skylight over an indoor garden acts as a natural chimney for ventilation, while a perforated wall allows the breeze to pass while filtering out the harsh glare. We love working with materials that age beautifully, like wire-cut bricks and terracotta. When you work with us, we aren't just giving you a design. We are looking at how you live—whether you need that morning coffee spot where the light hits the floor at just the right angle, or a puja nook that feels grounded and protected. We sketch this out with you, test the shadows, and build it until it feels like home. ## About 1Leapingfrog Studio We’re Leapingfrog Studio—just a gang of architects who love pizza, our office dog, and watching a sketch turn into a sun-drenched reality.
